International Scholarships in Canada, York University

York is a world-class research-intensive university located in Toronto, Canada. The University is one of the top universities in Canada and offers a wide range of programs to international students. The university is ranked as one of the top 10 research universities in the country.

Till now, York University has offered scholarship programs to international students for undergraduate programs. The scholarships are available through the York International Scholarship Program (YISP). York International Scholarship Program The objective of this program is to attract outstanding international students to study at York University through merit-based awards.

The aim is to attract students with exceptional academic records who will strengthen and enrich the student community at York University, and contribute to its reputation for excellence in teaching and research.


The last date to submit the entries to participate in the following grant is February 15, 2022.


Scholarship values are as follows: 95% and higher = $3,500; 90 – 94.9% = $2,000; 85% – 89.9% = $1,000; and 80% – 84.9% = $500. This scholarship is renewable for students admitted with a final average of 95%+ only. The final scholarship amount will be determined when final grades are received.

Admissible Criteria: 

  • To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • International secondary school students who are applying to a direct-entry undergraduate program and are in the process of completing their secondary school diploma.
  • Students must be completing their studies at a Canadian secondary school offering (within or outside of Canada).
  • Identified scholars from select high schools around the world will be considered for these awards at the discretion of York.
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum 8.00 sessional grade point average and enrol in a minimum of 24 credits for their first Fall/Winter academic year to qualify for the second year renewal.
  • The renewal will be based on a minimum 8.00-grade point average on all credits completed in the previous summer and fall/winter sessions.
  • Recipients at 95%+ who are students with disabilities may renew this scholarship by maintaining a min 8.00 GPA over a minimum 40% course load (6 credits per term).
  • Students must self-identify and show proof of disability for the first time of renewal. A conditional scholarship offer will be made at the time of admission.

How to Apply for York University Automatic International Entrance Scholarship: 

For applying, aspirants are recommended to take admission to the university. After being registered, Students will be automatically considered as part of the application process. No application is required.
