The Sassa R350 grant application status is one of the most confusing things for applicants. Many of those who are applying for the grant are unsure of what this means in relation to the progress of their Sassa application. Sassa has explained what this means and what happens to your application when you submit it.

Although Sassa is still processing payments of the current cycle of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant for the current month, many of its applicants still find that their application status says “Pending”. This could be because they have not yet received an SMS alert informing them that their application has been successful or because they have been sent a letter informing them that they have been unsuccessful in receiving a grant.

When you submit your application on any given day, Sassa goes through all applications received up until midnight on that day and processes them according to what is required by law. This means that if you submitted your application before midnight on April 30th but did not receive an SMS alert or letter from Sassa until May 1st, then your account will be on pending.

Sassa aims to process all applications within 30 days from the date they are received by them, however due to high volumes at present this may take longer than usual.
