In today’s Sassa News – The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has said that it intends to conduct further R350 grant assessments for July.

This is due to there being delays in the agency’s ability to conduct SRD grant assessments for July 2022, since the prior regulations mandated that beneficiaries confirm their grant every three months.

Sassa took approximately 20,000 applications into consideration related to the grant’s assessment in June.

If you receive the old grants from Sassa, then you should know that this week’s assessment of your grant will be your final one. R250 million was paid to more than 5 million beneficiaries as at May 31st, despite there being difficulties.

The last month when Sassa had cash-flow difficulties was in March 2030, but it has been working with various providers such as Mastercard and Shoprite Checkers to ensure that people are able to access their grants with ease.

The payment of social grants continues uninterrupted. Sassa is aware that many people are having difficulty accessing their money, but it is not because of any action on Sassa’s part. Banks are experiencing massive challenges with their systems and this seems to be the cause of most problems.
