Students are hereby welcome to submit applications for the ABA Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship program is offered by the University Of Florida Association Of Black Alumni in the USA.

This scholarship is open to all subjects and all courses at the sophomore, junior, or senior level. The University Of Florida Association has made an amount of $1,000 available for each award, and several scholarships will be given out annually.

Both US citizens and international students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program. The deadline for submissions is September 30th, 2022. So don’t delay – apply today!

Eligibility

  • Academics– Applicants must be a sophomore, junior or senior at the University of Florida and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA to qualify for the scholarship.
  • Community Service – Applicants must show a strong commitment to serving the community and have completed at least 30 hours of community service during this year. If community service hours are completed with different organizations, please submit one for each organization.

Please attach the following documents to this application as a pdf and return to abaufscholarship@gmail.com by Friday, September 9, 2022, by 11:59 p.m. If selected, the applicant must be available to attend the Black Alumni Reunion, on October 7th or 8th to receive the award. Selected recipients will be notified by phone and email by Friday, September 30, 2022.

To apply for the ABAU Scholarship, you must provide the following:

  • An unofficial or official transcript
  • A headshot photograph to be used in the scholarship program (as well as ABA publications to include social media, marketing, and/or websites)
  • A resume (two-page max)
  • Written documentation of community hours served from a non-profit organization. (Must be on letterhead) The deadline to apply is Friday, September 9, 2022, by 11:59 p.m.
