The 2023 NSFAS online applications have been opened for The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) as announced by Blade Nzimande, the Higher Education Minister. Students who are interested are can apply for this NSFAS bursary funding.

To do that, the applicant must do the following

1. Create a myNSFAS account by typing this link into your internet browser. https://my.nsfas.org.za/

2. if you do not have a myNSFAS account click Create or if you have an existing account click Login to your account and complete your information.

How to apply for 2023 NSFAS Online Application

1. Log into your myNSFAS account and click on the ‘APPLY’ tab

2. Answer the questions on the screen

3. Upload the required supporting documents then click on ‘SUBMIT’.

4. Your application reference number will appear on the screen.

The reference number will also be sent to the cellphone number and email address you provided.

NSFAS is a financial aid scheme for students to access tertiary education, enabling them to enroll at public higher education institutions and TVET colleges. This funding gives access to over 200 000 additional students each year.

Who qualifies For NSFAS funding?

  • Every South African citizen
  • All SASSA grantees are eligible for financing.
  • Applicants with a combined family income of less than R350 000 per year
  • Individual having a disability: The combined household income cannot exceed R600,000 per year.
  • Students who began their studies before 2018 and have a family income of less than R122 000 per year.
