Students who wish to pursue a degree in international development or another area related to the mission of USAID can apply for the Payne Fellowship Program. The fellowship offers up to $24,000 per year toward tuition and mandatory fees for completion of a two-year master’s degree at a US institution, as well as an $18,000 stipend for each academic year. 

This fellowship program is STRICTLY open to ONLY US citizens who are interested in pursuing a degree in international development or a related field.

The USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to attract highly qualified individuals who are interested in pursuing careers with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Eligibility

To be eligible for this funding opportunity, students must have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. Applicants must enrol in a graduate degree program at the University of Minnesota.
