Boot Camps to Assist Grade 12 Matrics with Final NSC Examinations

As Grade 12 students get ready to take their final National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, the provincial departments of education have begun their spring camps.

The camps provide as a forum for revision and fill in any topic gaps before students begin their examinations on October 31.

The additional lessons, which began on Friday, September 30, are expected to help 30 224 Grade 12 students, according to the North West Education Department. They will end on October 9th, a Sunday.

According to the agency, the camps would be spread up across 102 locations, including 32 walk-in locations and 70 residential locations.

The parents have received assurances from Mmaphefo Matsemela, the North West MEC for Education, that pupil safety would be prioritized throughout the camps.

“I would like to thank instructors and students for participating on behalf of the department. In order for students to properly comprehend their material, review, and learn with others, I would like to encourage parents to let children attend the camps and study with their peers.

Meals will be supplied for students, according to Matsemela.

According to the provincial agency, backup generator power would be used in the event of load shedding.

The final test for matriculants will be taken on December 7.

KwaZulu-Natal is also doing its own boot camps in the meanwhile.

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, “this program is organized by the department to help Grade 12 learners with revision and preparing matric candidates for their last school exams after 12 years of study.”

Mbali Frazer, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education, has urged students to maintain their attention and adhere rigidly to a study schedule.

She has thanked the instructors for making the sacrifice of forgoing their spring breaks in order to keep instructing matriculants.

The Gauteng Education Department reportedly planned 30 residential camps for 15,000 students as part of its secondary school development initiative, according to TimesLive.

The 2022 matric countdown was officially started last week in Limpopo at Mbilwi High School in Sibasa Circuit in Vhembe.

The goal, according to the Limpopo Education Department, is to mobilize parents, guardians, and stakeholders behind the Class of 2022.
