CUNY Blackboard is a resource for the entire CUNY community. Explore this site to find information regarding our resources, reports and events. The CUNY Blackboard offers a centralized, reliable and secure platform to post weekly syllabi. Faculty members who teach online and have their course materials online via Sakai are encouraged to use this tool.

Congratulations! You have taken the first step towards implementing effective online teaching strategies. For additional information and help, explore these resources: Translating On-Campus to Distance Learning webinar, and the Blackboard Instructor User Guide first, then visit the User Guides section of this Blackboard Resources site for tutorials on many Blackboard topics. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@blackboard.com or http://help.blackboard.com.

CUNY Blackboard is available 24/7 to answer your questions and concerns. Students and faculty can also contact Blackboard Support during the work day through email or phone.

Winter Intercession and Spring 2022 courses were created in Blackboard in early November 2021. A Blackboard course shell is automatically created for every CUNY course based on CUNYfirst data. The Blackboard course shell has been designed so that most of the information that instructors enter for their courses can be accessed from their Blackboard courses at any time. Another feature of the Blackboard course shell is that you can upload your syllabus, notes, and lecture materials to the site so that students can access your work anytime they need it during Open Access periods.

As of December 31, 2021, CUNY CIS migrated to Blackboard SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), which includes a cloud computing environment. To help you get started on the new Blackboard platform and adapt to this change, we’ve created this blog post along with an informative CUNY Blackboard Community website. We hope these resources help you through the transition!
