The South African Social Security Agency has released a unique number to help beneficiaries check their balance without using airtime or needing an internet connection. Sassa beneficiaries can check their Sassa balance just by using a ussd code via a cellphone. Other ways Sassa applicants can check their balance is through the Sassa WhatsApp number or via the Sassa website (srd.sassa.gov.za). Dial *120*3210# and follow the prompts to check your #SASSA balance on your phone.

You can check your SASSA balance via your phone by following the below steps:

1. Dial *120*3210# on your phone
2. Follow the prompts

If the above USSD code and balance check do not work, then try the following:

1. Dial *120*69277# on your phone
2. Follow each step
3. You should then get an SMS notification

Status Check Your SASSA Balance Using WhatsApp via Cell Phone

You can check your SASSA status using WhatsApp on your cellular phone:

1. Send the word “Sassa” to the Sassa WhatsApp application number – 082 046 8553
2. Reply with the text “Status“
3. Reply “Yes” if you have reference number.
4. Reply with your mobile number used when applying for the grant.
5. Reply with your reference number.
