The list of Mr Murthy’s investments is extensive, but perhaps nothing shows the breadth and depth of his business acumen as well as Larsen & Toubro. With revenues of $14.9bn in 2021, L&T has grown into one of India’s biggest conglomerates. After serving as chairman, Mr Murthy stepped down at 68 years old but continues to hold a minority stake in the company.
