The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has introduced the SASSA GovChat App to assist with the Special COVID-19 Social Relief of distress (SRD) grant. The SRD Sassa website has been slow as a result of excess traffic after the first day of applications for the Special COVID-19 Social Relief of distress grant got started.

Sassa in a statement said,

“This is a clear indication of the huge need for food aid among others, from distressed inhabitants of the country, and therefore the President couldn’t have reinstated this grant at a better time.
