The special Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) OF Sassa R350 was introduced by the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa to be given to citizens who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) already provided R350 grants to some older people, foster children, and child support.

But President Ramaphosa started the social relief of distress award due to the National State of Distress he announced.

Visit sassa.gov.za and follow the instructions to submit an SRD application. Enter the one-time pin that SASSA has sent to the number after clicking the “send SMS” button.

Fill out the steps requested by SASSA to continue the application process.

Applicants are encouraged to submit only one application rather than multiple applications across multiple platforms. When the application is successfully submitted, you will receive confirmation.

Those who applied for the grant in the previous round must reapply. Clients who have previously canceled the grant and wish to reapply are welcome to do so.
