As part of the reconsideration process, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) will check your personal information and income status to confirm that you are a vulnerable individual. Recently, it has been announced that the processing of reconsideration requests has been delayed due to longer communication times with banks and financial institutions. Please note that in order to receive the SRD Covid-19 grant, the applicant must not have received Covid-19 support from other governments.

How to get your R350 grant reconsidered

If your Covid-19 SRD R350 grant application status is shown as ‘Pending Reapplication’, you must follow these steps to challenge your R350 grant status:

  1. Go to the SRD portal: https://srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Click on the ‘Application for Reconsideration’ tab
  3. Then select ‘Click here to apply for reconsideration’
  4. Provide your ID number and cellphone number
  5. Complete the rest of the steps for reconsideration of your payment

Meanwhile, the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) increased the grant payments in October 2022. Beneficiaries of the R350 SRD grant are pleased to know that the R350 grant has been extended for another year. The agency increased the grant by R10 and it started in October.
