Sassa has made it easier for beneficiaries to receive their social relief of distress (SRD) grant payments. They can now do so directly from their personal bank account, rather than having to pick their money up at Sassa centres.

Beneficiaries can receive their SRD grants via their personal bank account. Beneficiaries can log in to the Sassa website, Sassa app, or their Social Security Service Centres via web or iPad and communicate with Sassa on-line to: pay bills, purchase goods and services, manage grants.

How To Change your Banking Details for SRD Grant:

  1. Click here to visit the SRD website.
  2. Scroll to “How do I change my banking details”.
  3. Enter your ID Number.
  4. An SMS containing a secure link, unique to you, will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during the application.
  5. Click on the link in the SMS.
  6. Follow the instructions carefully.

How do I complete my sassa banking details?

All you need to do is submit your banking details using the SASSA SRD website. Here’s how:

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Submit your ID Number.
  3. An SMS containing a secure link will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during the application.
  4. Click on the link in the SMS and follow the instructions carefully.
