Sassa Payouts – More than 18 million South Africans benefit from grants distributed by the government. These social grants are distributed to applicants by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) during the first few days of every new month. Sassa will begin distributing the grants on Wednesday, 2 November 2022 starting with the Older Person’s grants.

Sassa will begin distributing permanent grants on the 2nd of each month. However, if the 2nd day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, it will be paid on the next business day.

It is important to note that the Social Emergency Assistance (SRD) grant does not have a fixed payout date. SRD grant beneficiaries can check the payment dates on the SRD grant website.

Sassa’s Permanent Grant continues to appreciate in value through 2022. While this increase was a welcome relief to the millions of beneficiaries who had to rely on government subsidies, civil society groups believe the value of subsidies needs to be increased.
