Actions To Take If Your Sassa Grants Are Delayed

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released an announcement regarding the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) payment delays that the cashsend beneficiaries have been experiencing. Read this article to find out more.

If you have chosen the cash-send payment option, and your pay date is today or later, you should contact your bank. If the bank has not sent you a voucher and you cannot access it in the “Status of Grants Payment” section on Sassa website, you should request for it to send another link. If you accidentally deleted the message from your bank account details, do not panic; simply request another link to be sent by calling them or visiting their branch in person.

Sassa encourages claimants to submit their banking details for the cashsend option instead. This is because some beneficiaries failed the mobile number verification which is essential for the cashsend option.

SASSAs beneficiaries are advised to submit bank details. This will ensure that their grants are deposited straight into their bank accounts. They are also encouraged to submit their details as soon as possible because there will be no turning back once the grant is disbursed.
