When it comes to R350 grant payments Sassa regularly experiences delays. Nornally, these delays are caused by payment backlog in the previous months have beneficiaries wondering whether they will receive their due grant payments all at once, may be more than a month. As the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) continues to payout Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grants to eligible applicants and beneficiaries, many of the agency’s beneficiaries are experiencing delays due to arrears.

So the question remains whether Sassa will process these outstanding grant payments in the same period.

SRD grant recipients have been informed by the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) that payments will begin from mid-June 2022. Previously, almost three months from Sassa, he had not received his R350 past due.

Once the banking details of all his SRD grant applicants affected have been verified, Sassa said he will proceed to remove outstanding balances from previous grant cycles.

The payments will not be done together but will be done month by month. More than one payment may be made in a month, but no one will receive a double payment in amount.

However, it is equally important for affected beneficiaries to note that Sassa has stated that he will not make duplicate payments in previous months, especially months prior to April of this year. They will continue to receive eligible grant payments, but not all at once.
