PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Adapt IT has an opportunity for a new IT Manager to join our technology team. This position would lead our national desktop support team and be involved with the design, deployment and support of technology as a shared service.
Doing well in this position will assist us to operate dependably, grow safely, and increase efficiencies using new technologies. The position requires a diverse set of skills with access to multiple technology platforms ranging from monitoring and reporting to automation.

Roles and responsibilities include:
• Management and decision making
• Part of relevant internal decision-making bodies and forums
• Responsible for managing desktop support team
• Project management and more
Administration and documentation
• Ensuring that relevant internal processes are followed and adhered to
• Documenting all relevant information sets (Network, servers etc.)
• Coordinating efforts as relevant to asset management in conjunction with relevant team members.

Installation and configuration
• Supporting teams and business with technical knowledge
• Engaging with relevant external parties where additional skills are required
Monitoring and integration
• Monitoring of core systems
• Ensuring uptime of monitoring systems

Support and repairs
• Support cyber security efforts (after hour assistance may be required)
• 3rd line support and escalation to suppliers where relevant
• Escalation to third parties as relevant
• Ultimately responsible for resolution of escalations in support

Maintenance
• Ensuring that relevant health checks are completed
• All hardware and software updated and maintained as required
• Backup and restoration tasks
• Ensuring accuracy of core datasets and more

Reporting and KPI’s

• Monthly, quarterly, annual management and compliance reports
• Conducting KPI sessions with reporting staff
• Understanding and relaying relevant data as provided by external reports (Mimecast etc.) Budgeting, License and lifecycle management
• Ensuring that hardware and software components are budgeted for, and replaced when required. Architecture
• Assist with architecture of technology components (telephony, antivirus, WAN, process automation etc.)

Training
• Ensuring that team members are correctly skilled and constantly improving

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar)
• ITIL certified

Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a manager
• Experience working for similarly sized or larger (>1 000 staff) companies advantageous.
