The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is responsible for providing social security benefits to eligible citizens. How to Apply for the SASSA Old Age Grant

If you haven’t already done so, applying for the Sassa Retirement Pension is easy. First, collect all the necessary documents such as ID, proof of South African citizenship, proof of income. If everything is in order, https://srd.sassa.gov.za or visit your nearest Sassa office in person.

The application process will take approximately two weeks. You will also need to provide your bank details so that your annuity can be transferred directly to your account.

Once your application is approved, you will receive your monthly pension. Remember that pension amounts are means-tested. As such, having other sources of income may affect the amount you receive.
