Hotmail is a free and vast email service that was created in 1996. It was the first email service available for internet users and comes installed on most computers by default. Hotmail handles personal email addresses and accounts. In the year 1996, Hotmail was officially released for public use on 4th July. It was a revolutionary email service and now we are still using it as our main source of communication. However, later on, many new email services were introduced, like Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc.People were moving away from Hotmail to these other services because they were able to perform better in terms of features and security.

But then again Hotmail brought back its glory days by adding new features which the competitors couldn’t match up with. In 1997, became a part of Microsoft; however, after becoming famous and popular, Microsoft finally decided to buy it. Thus, in 2013, Outlook was created by Microsoft.

The Hotmail service is still among the most popular email services on the market.
