The USA Immigrant Visa section provides information on immigrant visas, including the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa program.

You can submit an Immigrant Visa application through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC). This is a secure website where U.S. Embassies, Consulates and international organizations will be able to apply for and receive immigrant visas online via the Internet. The Department of State has contracted with VFS Global Services Private Ltd. to provide services related to the CEAC.

Applying for a Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) is the fastest way to apply for your immigrant visa. You can apply at your own convenience, wherever you are in the world and there are no limits to the number of applicants you can bet to help with. What is consular Electronic Application Center?

The Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) supports an internet-based, full- service application service center where applicants for nonimmigrant visa or immigrant visa services may complete and submit an application.

U.S. Immigrant Visa Applicants

A person wishing to immigrate to the United States must have a petition approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) before applying for an immigrant visa. The potential employer can file the petition at a USCIS office in the United States, or a qualifying relative may file one from abroad. An individual with an approved petition and current priority date is eligible to apply for an immigrant visa or K nonimmigrant visa.

How to apply for a U.S. Immigrant Visa

Submit a pre-appointment request and schedule an IV appointment

After receiving the appointment approval notification from the Embassy/Consulate, you may schedule your appointment either online on this link  or through our call center on this link. Your appointment approval notification will include your case ID

To Submit a Pre-Approval appointment request and to schedule an appointment After Receipt of Approval Notification from the Embassy:

Step 1

Determine the visa type you are applying for.

Step 2

Complete the DS-160  (for K visa applicant) or DS-260 , as applicable.

Step 3

If you have not created a profile previously in our system, please select here . After you have successfully created a profile, on your dashboard, select “New Application/Schedule Appointment” and proceed to respond to the questions as prompted.

If you have an existing profile in USTravelDocs, please select here  to enter your username and password. On your dashboard, please click “New Application/Schedule Appointment” and proceed to respond to the questions as prompted.

If you have forgotten your password, please click the “Forgot your password”. A temporary password will be sent to the email address registered in your profile. You may contact the call center if you require assistance.

Step 4

Select “New Application/Schedule Appointment”; select the visa category and visa class as it applies to you and continue with the scheduling process.

At the step 5 of the scheduling process, enter your personal information or update personal information if necessary. If you have dependents, enter the name and details of your dependents at the step 6 of the scheduling process.

Select your document delivery location of choice enter your case ID at the step 8 of the scheduling process. 

After you have entered your valid case ID, you will be routed to the Schedule Consular Appointment page with the message ”Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive an email once your request is approved“.

You will not be able to schedule an appointment until your request for an appointment has been approved by the U.S. Embassy. Please be patient while you wait for the email notification.

Step 5

When you receive your appointment approval notification from the Embassy, login  to your profile with your username and password and on your dashboard, click “Continue” and schedule your appointment to a suitable day and time as allocated by the US Embassy.

You will be required to bring a printed copy of your Appointment Confirmation letter, your current passport and all other supporting documents to the visa interview.

Only applicants with scheduled appointments will be admitted into the U.S. Embassy.

DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS UNTIL YOUR VISA HAS BEEN ISSUED.
