Sassa Grant Payments for February Commenced

Some Sassa social grant beneficiaries can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that they will be receiving their grant payments today. The agency also intends to shortly follow through with other grant payments on the days outlined below.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) announced that the payment of social grants will commence as planned. This news brings relief to millions of South Africans who rely on these grants to support themselves and their families.

The first of these social grants to be disbursed on 2 February will be the Older Persons Grant, according to a social media post by the agency, followed by the Disability Grant on Friday 3 February, and the rest of the other grant payments scheduled for Monday 6 February.

Beneficiaries are reminded that they have a variety of options to collect social grants at their disposal. These include cash withdrawals at ATMs, the Post Bank as well as selected retail outlets using their Sassa Gold Card. The selected retail outlets are Boxer, Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers and Usave.

Social grant recipients have been urged to keep in mind that, when processed, their grant payment will remain in their bank account until needed. This means that an immediate withdrawal is not necessary if it will not be convenient for the beneficiary to collect it.

Sassa has also assured beneficiaries that the payment process will run smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that all eligible recipients receive their grants without delay.

The agency has taken measures to ensure that the payment system is secure and that no fraudulent activities take place.
