Application for NSFAS for the 2023-2024 academic year can be made via the online application portal 2023-2024.

1. To apply online, go to www.nsfas.org.za
2. After that, you create an account with myNSFAS.
3. On the NSFAS website, click “Apply”
4. Make sure all information on the NSFAS online application 2023-2024 is up-to-date before proceeding

In order to complete your NSFAS Bursary Online Application for 2023-2024, you will need to provide the following information:

• It is essential that you have your own cellphone number and email address
• A copy of your ID or birth certificate is required

In 2023, the NSFAS application system is likely to open from 28 September 2022 to 31 January 2023 when the results of the National Senior Certificate are released.

TVET Colleges’ NSFAS Requirements for 2023

1. This bursary scheme is only available to South African citizens
2. A student must be registered at a public TVET college in South Africa that offers PLP, NC(V), or Report 191 programmes.
3. An NSFAS evaluation of a student’s financial need will determine eligibility for financial assistance.
4. Upon returning to the College, all students must demonstrate proven and acceptable academic performance (academically deserving) in accordance with the College’s progress policy or the Bursary Rules and Guidelines (whichever is higher).
5. It is not advisable for candidates to enroll in a qualification that duplicates previous state-funded learning
6. The maximum family income threshold is R350,000 per annum, and applicants who are admitted/receive a firm offer for enrolment in a college qualify.

Applicants must create a myNSFAS account or re-register a myNSFAS account to apply and register online for 2023. 

The following steps will guide you through the process:

1. Please visit the NSFAS website: www.nsfas.org.za for more information
2. Go to the NSFAS webpage and click on “myNSFAS” at the top right corner
3. A welcome message will appear on the myNSFAS page: “Welcome to myNSFAS”
4. Enter your username (email address) and password to re-register your myNSFAS account
5. Please click on “Register” if you wish to register. Before registering your profile, please ensure that you have a copy of your South African ID or unbridged birth certificate.
6. If you want NSFAS to verify and validate your information with third parties, please check the box
7. After that, enter your ID number as it appears on your ID document
8. In the space provided, type your full name and surname as per your ID number

10. Make sure your email address is valid
